Pastor T. McLaurin
Dr. TaWanda McLaurin epitomizes the multifaceted dimensions of womanhood, embodying roles as a devoted Wife, nurturing Mother, compassionate Pastor, dedicated Professional, and prolific Author. Her unwavering commitment to God has been a driving force throughout her journey. A graduate of Fayetteville State University in 1993, Dr. McLaurin earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology, laying the foundation for her future endeavors. She continued her academic pursuit, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Christian Education from Amora Deliverance Theological Institution in 2007, followed by a dual degree in 2011, culminating in her Doctor of Theology with a specialization in Pastoral Counseling. In 2013, Dr. McLaurin expanded her academic repertoire, earning a master’s degree in social psychology from Walden University, complemented by a subsequent master’s in social work. Her academic achievements underscore her commitment to holistic learning and professional growth.
Currently employed by the Cumberland County School System as a School Social Worker, Dr. McLaurin is deeply invested in nurturing the potential of young individuals, emphasizing education, empowerment, and equipping them with the tools for societal success. Her dedication and compassionate approach have been recognized, earning her the esteemed accolade of “Social Worker of the Year” for the 2012-2013 academic year.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Dr. McLaurin is a visionary and anointed playwright, leveraging her creative talents to inspire and uplift others. As an accomplished author, she has published journals and a workbook, including “Stress-Free, That’s Me” and “Pause Then Pray,” alongside the companion workbook “Pray, Plan, Focus.” She is the owner of Stress-Free Support and Consulting Services, LLC.
In addition to her professional and creative pursuits, Dr. McLaurin is a devoted wife of over 20 years to Apostle Dr. Gary McLaurin, and a nurturing mother to her sons. Her innate passion for nurturing and mentoring led her to establish several impactful initiatives, including the Young Men of Integrity and Train up a Child summer enrichment program, aimed at providing educational support and fostering holistic development. She is also the visionary behind Women of Excellence Ministry, Stress-Free Show, and Young Ladies of Excellence, championing the empowerment and upliftment of women and young girls.
Dr. McLaurin’s overarching purpose is to inspire and motivate others to live lives that honor and please God, exemplifying excellence in every facet of her endeavors.
