Biography of Apostle Dr. Gary B. McLaurin Gary Bernard McLaurin, the son of Francis McLaurin and the late Robert McLaurin, was born on February 20, 1965, in New Haven, CT. From an early age, he felt a divine calling to lead and deliver God’s people from the bondage of sin. Educated in the New Haven public school system, Gary showed exceptional promise and embarked on a spiritual growth and leadership journey. In 1984, doors to evangelism opened for Gary, where he walked in a prophetic anointing as Evangelist McLaurin, driven by a deep passion for souls to be saved and for God’s glory to be revealed. Two years later, in 1986, he moved to Fayetteville, NC, where he served as an assistant at Deliverance Temple and later as Assistant Pastor at Faith Pentecostal from 1988 to 1990, known for his impactful evening worship sessions titled “The Hour of Power.” In 1994, Gary was ordained as Pastor under the leadership of Wilemna Redmon and commenced his ministry from his own home. Subsequently, he moved to a condemned building on Cashwell Street, where he worshipped for five months before being blessed with a storefront at 2120 Owen Drive. His spiritual journey continued as he transitioned to a million-dollar facility at 2060 Goins Drive. In 1999, he accepted his Apostleship, walking in the five-fold ministry and ministering worldwide, including Trinidad and Japan. Lives were saved, restored, and delivered.
Beyond his pastoral duties, Apostle McLaurin founded PJB&R Production and Distribution Company, showcasing his love for music and singing. His live recordings, capturing personal experiences, earned him recognition, including the Prestige Award for “Songwriter of the Year” from the North Carolina Gospel Announcers Guild in 2005 and the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007. Under his leadership, Shekinah Faith Temple received the “Choir of the Year” award. In his pursuit of knowledge and spiritual growth, Apostle McLaurin earned a bachelor’s degree in Christian Education from Amora Deliverance Theological Institution in 2007. Additionally, he received a dual degree in 2011 from Amora Deliverance Theological Institution, obtaining his Master’s and Doctor of Theology focusing on Pastoral Counseling. He furthered his education with an associate degree in psychology from Ashworth College and is currently working on a bachelor’s degree in psychology. He authored two books, “Nuggets” in 2014 and “Social Racialism” in 2022.

He serves as the founder and overseer of Shekinah Faith Temple International Ministries Inc., headquartered in Fayetteville, NC, with a second location in Pittsburgh, PA. His dedication to reaching others and touching lives reflects his deep love for God and people. His life exemplifies a pastor after God’s heart, committed to preaching, teaching, prophesying, evangelizing, and establishing truth in ministry.
